Overview

The Vana Grants Program is a milestone-based funding initiative designed to support projects building core components of the Vana ecosystem — from DataDAOs and infrastructure tools to apps using permissioned on-chain data access.

Whether you're building a DataDAO, a data-powered app, or essential infra for open data markets, this program helps you scale with capital, credibility, and community support.

Eligibility Criteria

Projects must:

• Be aligned with Vana’s mission of user-owned data and open AI infrastructure
• Commit to ecosystem-first incentives and long-term value creation
• Define clear, measurable milestones tied to product growth and adoption
• Be open to collaboration across the Vana ecosystem

Ecosystem Standards

Depending on the category of your project, the following compliance may be required:

• VRC-14 / VRC-20 – Data Token Standards

  (For DataDAOs issuing tokens for liquidity and governance)

• Vana Data Access Architecture

  (For projects enabling permissioned on-chain data querying)

• Security Best Practices

  (For infrastructure/tools—audited or verified code expected)

Grant Size

Vana grants are milestone-based and typically range from $5000 to $25000 USD per project.

If your project requires more than $25000, it may still be eligible — but will go through additional review by the Vana Investment Committee (IC). In such cases, we may explore investment opportunities alongside or instead of a grant, especially if your project represents a long-term strategic fit for the Vana ecosystem.

Program Structure

1️⃣ Application & Scoping

📌 Submit your proposal through the Typeform Application Form(To be shared when season 2 is live), including:

• Project overview + category (DataDAO, app, infra, etc.)
• Milestone plan with funding request (in USDC, $VANA, or both)
• Team background, relevant links (GitHub, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Readiness proof (e.g. schema, MVP, design, GTM plan)

2️⃣ Review & Onboarding

• Proposals reviewed on a rolling basis
• Select teams will:
  • Go through an onboarding session
  • Finalize milestone agreement with the Vana team
  • Get added to Vana builder channels

3️⃣ Milestone-Based Disbursement

• Grants are split into 3–5 milestones
• Disbursements are tracked & verified via GitHub, on-chain data, or demo links

4️⃣ Ecosystem Support
