Governance

Introduction

DataDAOs not only incentivize data contributions but also serve as key governance hubs within Vana’s ecosystem. By aligning governance with incentives, DLPs are managed in a decentralized, community-driven manner, ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of the network.

DataDAO

Each DataDAO is governed by their own DAO, where governance decisions are made by token holders who have earned governance rights through their participation in the DLP. The governance tokens are used to vote on proposals such as:

  • Reward Distribution: Governance token holders can vote to adjust how rewards are split between DataDAO creators, stakers, and data contributors.
  • DataDAO Expansion: The community can vote to change the current go-to-market strategy or other strategies that this particular DataDAO follows.
  • Proof of Contribution Adjustments: Token holders can propose changes to how the Proof of Contribution is implemented, ensuring that DataDAOs evolve to maintain the highest data quality.

Governance through the Data DAO allows for flexible and community-driven decision-making that adapts to the evolving needs of the network.

Tally Integration

Vana has integrated Tally and Snapshot as its governance tools, allowing token holders to easily propose and vote on changes to DataDAOs in a secure, transparent manner. With them, DLP participants can:

  • Propose Changes: Any token holder can propose changes to the DataDAO governance structure, reward distribution, or operational rules.
  • Vote Transparently: Tally ensures that all votes are recorded on-chain, providing full transparency and ensuring that the results are verifiable by anyone in the community.
  • Track Proposals: Participants can monitor the progress of governance proposals, ensuring they stay informed and can participate in shaping the future of the DataDAO.
